Difficulty urinating<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have difficulty starting to urinate or if the stream is weak and intermittent, this is a worrying sign. It may indicate <i>enlargement of the prostate<\/i> or an obstruction of the urinary tract. I remember one patient who thought it was normal to take 10 minutes to urinate. He was relieved to learn that this was not the case and that treatment could help him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Frequent urges, especially at night<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Getting up more than twice a night to urinate is not normal. This <i>nocturia<\/i> may be a sign of an overactive bladder or prostate problem.
